Learning & discovery
A learner could turn their own notes into a short practice session and spend more time on the ideas they find difficult.
Burgeon Labs is a mobile app studio. Today we use AI to help collectors identify trading cards. We plan to bring the same focus on real user needs to new kinds of apps.
Explore our workWhich card am I looking at? It’s a familiar question when you’re flipping through a binder or sorting a stack of trading cards.
Our trading card game (TCG) project uses AI to help players and collectors identify a card from an image. A picture gives them a starting point even when they don’t know the card’s name.
Explore future directionsWe plan to build a portfolio of mobile apps, each with its own audience and purpose. Here are a few areas a future Burgeon Labs app could explore.
A learner could turn their own notes into a short practice session and spend more time on the ideas they find difficult.
A creator could start with a rough sketch, explore a few visual directions, and choose one to develop in their own style.
A parent could photograph a school notice and review the dates, supplies and reminders they want to keep.
A new product starts with the people who might use it. We shape the app around their habits, then test whether AI makes a particular task easier.
Spend time with the people doing the task. A collector searching for an unfamiliar card offers a clearer starting point than a broad idea for a hobby app.
Choose one step to simplify, build a small prototype, and check whether the result actually saves effort.
Make the result easy to review, edit or discard. A correction should take less work than starting over.
